Installion Piece

Installation Art pts two and Three

A. What is installation art? Installation art is a 3-d piece that is supposed to define a space, it is designed to force the person to look at the space in new ways.

B. What materials are used installation art?
It seems pretty much anything can be used in installation art.

C. Why make installation art?

D. Which artist/installation did I find most interesting?
I really don't find this work interesting. The 3-d piece I find most interesting is the glass room that used to be at the Albright-Knox.

A. From the material reviewed, is there a inspiration piece that I feel a connection with?

From the material reviewed? none at all.

B. What theme do I want to explore in my installation? Refer to your textbook if you need to review Themes of Art. (chapter 3 in text)
(Nature, Environment, Self, Mass Media, Consumerism, etc.)

I decided to use the Sacred Realm as my theme and the way it relates to the study of natural world.

C. What materials will I use?

A Christmas Tree, a piece of material, many ornaments - all of them hand made and the Science Museum various pieces of the Science Museum Ed collection

D. Where will this installation be located and why?

I am installing it (albeit very temporarily) at the science museum because I want to juxtaposition the Study of science with the Xmas tree, as my theme is the Sacred Realm and the study of the natural world.

The piece is called "Science Does Not Negate Faith; Faith Does Not Negate Science"

Thank you to the Staff of the Buffalo Museum of Science for allowing me use of their space and their collection pieces.
